Exploring Health Care Bridge Programs for Veterans, featuring Lansing Community College

The Articulation of Academic Credit Work Group of the Multi-State Collaborative on Military Credit (MCMC) will host a webinar in April on Lansing Community College’s (LCC) military medic to paramedic program. Frederick E. Vollrath, the assistant secretary of defense for Readiness and Force Management for the U.S. Department of Defense, noted after his visit to LCC in 2013 that their program is unique in that it goes beyond credentialing to advanced education and employment. LCC’s program was highlighted at a 2013 forum at the White House. Curriculum design, faculty engagement, and licensing factors will be discussed. 

 

Katie Giardello, director of Veteran and Transfer Initiatives for the Michigan Center for Student Success at the Michigan Community College Association, will be present to facilitate the conversation and gather feedback.  Ms. Giardello also serves as the co-chair of the MCMC Articulation of Academic Credit Work Group, The webinar will be 60 minutes in length with time allotted for questions and answers.
